The mysterious blinking bug bite!
If you are queezy read no further! JD woke up this morning with a bug bite. Seems harmless enough. It is swollen right on his knuckle so it makes his finger stiff. He is complaining like kids do. Before I even look at it I know I am going to kiss it and throw a band-aid on it. But, I do my motherly duty and study it like I am a trained surgeon. Much to my surprise!!...The bug bite is blinking!! O-M-Gosh! I have seen a lot of freaky stuff in my day, but I have never seen a bug bite blink! If you stare at the pic, I'm sure you can see it blinking too! It's not just me, right? So, I close/open my eyes and look again for confirmation. Yep, still blinking. What could it be you're thinking? A rare radioactive mutant mosquito is my guess! I know you were thinking that too! No, a lass, it is not...just a harmless little...boring...little bug bite. I was seeing the pulsing of his blood under the bite, no doubt trying to heal his finger. So, I guess his body is working correctly and not at all radioactive. False alarm folks! But you have to admit that was pretty freaky! Have you ever seen a blinking bug bite?!

my 5 year old son rowan and i were shocked to see a blinking bug bite on his leg! thanks for posting, we were wondering if anyone else had experienced this. so wacky!
Thank God for this post. I almost passed out thinking some crazy poisonous spider bit my baby. I did the same thing, closing and opening my eyes, trying to look at something else, changed rooms thinking maybe just maybe it was the light in the room slightly blinking. Nope! You solved the mystery! whew!
My baby has one of these right now, which lead me to your blog. I assumed it was her pulse. Her skin is super red and there is a blister forming. My poor kids get the oozing blisters from mosquito bites, so I was only slightly alarmed and mostly amused by the blinking bite. Thankfully local raw goats milk has helped my son. Just have to get baby used to the difference in taste and starting helping her build those natural antibodies.
Just had this blinking from a mosquito bite I got in Japan, really freaked me out, thank you for this article, calmed me down and gave my friend and I a good laugh, very funny delivery! ������

I have a bug bit right now and I thought it was a mosquito bit but its been 2 days and its still here and much bigger then a normal bit. I just cleaned it with alcohol and put some vapor rub on it to help the itching. And now its flashing. It freaked me out!! So glad im not the only one that has seen this. Now I can relax. Thanks so much for sharing!
I just woke up with one on my knee worried it was a really bad spider bite because damn Texas might as well have that. But...Im glad to know it's as simple as the blood passing by the bite.
OMG. My daughter has a bite like that on her leg right now.. I was thinking oh crap do we rush her to hospital. I hope it's not serious it's freaking me out

everything i find on blinking bug bite leads me to heart issues...aka... aortic insufficiency or aortic valve regurgitation.
with some documents saying it can happen without these...but the heck?
